REAL WORLD INCOMING

(6th–7th grade November–March)

GateUP = one adventure across subjects.

Rhythm 10–25–10 minutes: challenge – learning – connection.

Challenges are offered in three levels of subject or English difficulty. Students can also complete them at home, move to higher levels, and earn extra points.

Lesson 1

Literature – Myths and Legends

The journey begins with a legend. Students read it and imagine different endings. At the basic level they choose from simple text or pictures, at the advanced level they invent their own.

👉 The lesson ends by comparing their ideas with the comic’s continuation

Connect Czech Class and English Class Through Story

English Class

Students read the comic, see the kids celebrating, and try to explain why. At the basic level they use simple quizzes, at the advanced level they continue the story with short sentences.

👉 The lesson ends with the kids finding a picture of a new room — leading into Art.

Challenge 2

Connect English Class and Art Class Through Comics

Art Class

The kids look at the new room on the computer. The challenge is to show what it looks like. At the basic level they sketch it on paper or computer, at the advanced level they create a detailed version with extra elements.

👉 The lesson ends with drawings prepared to be described in English.

Math Class

Students calculate the cost of the rooms they designed. At the basic level they add up furniture prices, at the advanced level they work with percentages, compare options, and plan within a budget.

👉 The lesson ends with the challenge to plan the budget smartly.
